Using search

Opening search

Look for the Search pages, members, events… pill in the top of the page on desktop, or the magnifying-glass icon next to your profile picture on mobile. You can also:

Press ⌘ + K on a Mac
Press Ctrl + K on Windows or Linux
Press / when you're not typing in a field

All of these open the same search palette, on the club admin header and on the /me header.

What you can find

Pages

Every page you can reach from the sidebar (and plenty that aren't on it) show up under Pages. Type a page name, or a synonym you'd naturally reach for (for example "refunds" or "custom fields"), and the matching destinations you have permission to see rise to the top. With an empty search box, Pages shows a short default list of the ones you use most often.

Committee members with the right permission also see a few Actions shortcuts for common tasks, such as "New event", "Invite member", or "Record payment", each jumping straight to the page that does it.

On /me, Pages covers your own account, player, clubs, guardian, and admin surfaces, whatever your account currently has access to.

Records (club admin and member pages only)

Inside a club (admin or member view), search also covers the five things you look up most often:

Members: names, emails
Events: titles; same-named events (e.g. "Club Night") are disambiguated by date and venue
Teams: names
Competitions: names
Applications: only visible to committee members with the right permission

Typing at least two characters starts this part of the search; results are grouped by type. Record search isn't available from /me, since it isn't scoped to any one club; open a club's admin or member pages first.

What you see depends on where you are

Search respects the part of the app you're currently in:

Browsing admin pages (anything under /{slug}/admin/*), you see the full admin view: admin Pages and Actions, plus record search including Applications and Competitions. Results link to the admin detail pages where you can edit.
Browsing member pages (anything under a public/per-club detail page), record search shows the member view: Applications and Competitions are hidden, and results link to the member-facing detail pages (member profile, event page, team page). Admin Pages and Actions don't show here either, so a committee member checking what something looks like from a member's side gets the member's own search experience.
On /me, search shows only Pages scoped to your account (no record search).

↑ and ↓ move between results
Enter opens the selected result
Cmd/Ctrl + Enter opens in a new tab
Esc closes the palette

Recents

When you open search with an empty box, your last five opened results show up so you can jump straight back to them. This list is stored in your browser and is private to you.
