This is useful when:

- Clearing levels for a specific group
Filtering Members by Level
The members list includes a Level filter to help you find members by ability:
- Go to Admin > Members
- Use the Level filter dropdown
- Select a specific level, or choose No Level to find unassigned members
The Level column in the table shows each member's assigned level as a colored badge.
Using Levels During Club Sessions
On the peg board, each player's level badge is visible next to their name. This makes it easy to:
- Quickly identify player abilities
- Create balanced games by mixing levels
- Avoid mismatched games (e.g., all beginners against all advanced players)
Use levels as a guide, not a strict rule. Sometimes mixed-ability games are fun and educational.
Best Practices
- Start simple - 3-4 levels is usually enough for most clubs
- Be consistent - Use the same criteria for assessing everyone
- Review periodically - Players improve over time; update levels as needed
- Don't over-categorize - More levels aren't always better; they can make it harder to balance games
- Consider doubles partnerships - A strong player paired with a beginner can balance well against two intermediate players
- Be tactful - Skill levels are visible to all; use them constructively
Level Visibility
- Committee members can see and assign levels
- Levels appear on the club session peg board for everyone to see
- Use levels to facilitate fair play, not to label or rank players negatively
Troubleshooting
"Level not showing on peg board"
- Ensure the level is assigned to the member's profile
- Check that the level hasn't been deleted
- Refresh the club session page
"Cannot delete level"
- If a level is in use, you may need to reassign members to a different level first, or the system will simply remove the level from those members
"Levels in wrong order"
- Drag and drop levels on the settings page to reorder them
- The new order is saved automatically
