Teams and Rosters

As a club member, you may be assigned to one or more teams. The Teams section helps you view your assignments, see team rosters, and stay informed about upcoming matches.

Viewing Your Teams

Navigate to Teams from the sidebar to see all teams you're assigned to.

Teams List View

The teams list shows:

  • Team name - The official team name
  • League/Division - What competition the team plays in
  • Your role - Player, Captain, or Vice-Captain
  • Team size - Number of players on the roster
  • Status - Active or Inactive

Click on any team card to view detailed information.

Team Details Page

When you click on a team, you'll see the full team details:

Team Information

  • Team name and description
  • Competition details - League, division, season
  • Home venue - Where home matches are played
  • Match day - Regular playing day and time

Team Roster

The roster shows all players assigned to the team:

| Role | Player, Captain, or Vice-Captain |

| Playing Positions | Their preferred positions |

| Availability | Current availability status |

Tip: Click on a teammate's name to view their profile and contact details.

Captain and Vice-Captain

Each team typically has:

  • Captain - Responsible for team selection and match coordination
  • Vice-Captain - Supports the captain and stands in when needed

Captains can view player availability and manage team selections for upcoming matches.

Understanding Your Role

As a Player

Your responsibilities include:

  • Keeping your availability updated
  • Responding to captain communications
  • Arriving on time for matches
  • Notifying the captain if your availability changes

As a Captain

In addition to player responsibilities:

  • View and manage team selections
  • Access full availability information for your team
  • Communicate with team members
  • Record match results (if enabled)

As a Vice-Captain

Vice-captains support the captain and may have similar access to team management features.

Availability for Teams

Your availability helps captains plan team selections:

Setting Your Availability

  1. Go to your Profile page
  2. Find the Availability section
  3. Set your general availability or add specific unavailable periods

Availability Status

| Status | Meaning |

|--------|---------|

| Available | You're available for selection |

| Unavailable | You cannot play during this period |

| Maybe | You might be available - check with captain |

Important: Keeping your availability updated helps captains make fair and efficient team selections.

Fixtures and Matches

Viewing Upcoming Fixtures

On the team details page, you'll see:

  • Upcoming matches - Date, time, opponent, and venue
  • Past results - Recent match outcomes

Match Details

Click on a fixture to see:

  • Full match details
  • Selected players (once published)
  • Venue directions
  • Captain's notes

Communicating with Your Team

Finding Contact Information

Team rosters include contact details for your teammates:

  • Email addresses
  • Phone numbers (if shared)

When to Contact the Captain

Reach out to your captain if:

  • Your availability changes for an upcoming match
  • You have questions about team selection
  • You need venue or timing information

Tips for Team Members

  1. Update availability regularly - Check your profile weekly to ensure it's current
  2. Respond promptly - When your captain contacts you, reply as soon as possible
  3. Communicate changes - If something changes, let your captain know immediately
  4. Be a good teammate - Support your teammates on and off the court

Troubleshooting

I'm not seeing my team

  • Confirm with the committee that you've been assigned to the team
  • Try refreshing the page
  • Check if the team is set to Active status

My role is incorrect

  • Contact your team captain or the committee to update your role

I can't see teammate contact details

  • Your club may have privacy settings that limit contact information visibility
  • Contact your captain directly for teammate contact details
