Cancelling an erasure request

If you've requested deletion of your account but changed your mind, you have 30 days to cancel. Your account stays usable the whole time, so there are two easy ways.

When you submitted the request, we emailed you a confirmation with a one-click cancel link of the form:

https://badmintonclubhouse.com/account/erasure/cancel?id=...&token=...

Click it. You'll see a confirmation page; click Cancel my erasure request. Your account is restored immediately; no data was deleted yet.

The cancel link does not require you to sign in (the token in the URL is the authorisation), so it works even if you can't get to your inbox-linked device.

Option 2: Sign back in

Sign in as normal; requesting deletion does not lock you out during the cooling-off. Wherever you go in the app you'll see an amber banner across the top:

Your account is scheduled for deletion on (N days left). Change your mind? [Keep my account]

Click Keep my account and you're restored. You can also open Your data (/me/data) and click Cancel my erasure request for the same result.

After cancellation

  • Your account is fully active again.
  • Membership rosters show you again.
  • No data was lost: the cooling-off window exists precisely so cancellation is loss-free.
  • You can re-request erasure later if you change your mind again, subject to the 90-day rate limit.

After day 30

Once the cooling-off elapses, the worker runs and erasure becomes permanent. You can't cancel after that point. If you genuinely need a recently-erased account restored, email dpo@badmintonclubhouse.com: we may be able to restore from a recent PITR backup, but anything older than 7 days post-erasure is unrecoverable.
