Responding to a session invitation
When a club approves your visit request onto a capacity session, you get an invitation to confirm or decline. A seat is held for you until you respond or the deadline passes.
Responding to a session invitation
When you request to play at a club's capacity-limited session and the committee approves it, you are not booked in straight away. Instead you get an invitation: a seat is held for you, and you choose to Confirm or Decline. This gives you the final say over whether you actually attend.
This is different from the older flow where approval booked you automatically. For how capacity, waitlists and pre-pay work in general, see Booking a session ahead of time.
Where you see the invitation
- On your calendar at /me/calendar, the session shows an amber Invited badge.
- On the booking page (open the session from your calendar), you see an Invited state with a respond-by deadline, the fee, and Confirm / Decline buttons.
The respond-by deadline
Your invitation has a deadline, 24 hours before the session starts (rounded down to the hour). A seat is held for you until then.
- Respond in time and your choice is applied.
- Miss the deadline and the invitation expires automatically. The held seat is released back to the club, so someone else can take it. You can still ask to come another time.
What the fee line tells you
The committee chooses the fee when they approve your request, so the invitation shows you exactly what to expect:
- No charge: the session is free for you. Confirming books you in with nothing to pay.
- A fee (standard guest fee or a custom amount): you will get a payment request when you confirm. Payment never blocks your seat, your place is secured the moment you confirm, and you settle the fee separately.
Confirming or declining
- Open the session from your calendar or the booking page.
- Read the respond-by deadline and the fee line.
- Tap Confirm to take the seat, or Decline to release it.
After you confirm, the session becomes a normal booking. If you can no longer make it, you can Cancel any time before it starts, just as you would with any other booking. Refund rules for any fee you paid follow the club's usual cancellation policy.
