Making a junior discoverable to clubs
How to let club committees in your area find your junior's profile and invite them to junior sessions.
Making a junior discoverable to clubs
The Available to be found by clubs toggle lets club committees in your area see a minimal, safeguarded profile for your junior so they can invite them to junior sessions. It is off by default and entirely guardian-controlled.
Note: This feature is being rolled out gradually. If you don't see the toggle on your junior's edit page, it hasn't been enabled for your club yet.
What clubs can see
When the toggle is on, committee members at clubs within range of your postcode area can see:
- The junior's first name and last initial (for example, "Alex B.")
- Their age band (for example, "Under 14")
- Their postcode area (the outward code only, for example "SN1")
- Their ability level (if set)
That's all. Clubs cannot see the junior's date of birth, photo, full address, or any contact details.
How clubs reach you
Clubs never contact the junior directly. If a club wants to invite your junior, they send an invitation to you, the guardian, by email. You choose whether to accept, ignore, or decline. The junior's contact details are never shared.
Turning it on
- Go to Juniors from your
/mesidebar (under the Guardian section). - Find the junior's card and click Edit.
- Scroll to the Available to be found by clubs card.
- Click the toggle to switch it on.
A confirmation toast will appear: "Clubs in your area can now find this junior."
Tip: If the junior doesn't have a postcode on their profile, the system will try to use your own postcode. If neither is set, you'll see an amber notice asking you to add one before clubs can match the junior to their area.
If the junior is 16 or older
For juniors aged 16 and over, a confirmation dialog appears before the toggle goes on. You'll be asked to tick a box confirming the junior has agreed to be discoverable by clubs. The toggle won't activate until you confirm.
Turning it off
Follow the same steps and click the toggle to switch it off. The change takes effect immediately: "This junior is no longer findable by clubs."
What other guardians are told
If there is more than one guardian on the junior's profile, every other guardian receives a notification when the toggle is changed. This keeps all guardians informed, whichever one made the change.
Stays off automatically after promotion
Once a junior is promoted to their own adult account (available from age 16), they manage their own discoverability. The guardian toggle is no longer shown for promoted juniors.
